National Burger Day: The question is, how do you eat yours?

It’s National Burger Day on August 25th – which got us thinking: What is the UK’s favourite burger these days?
The research team at Betway have taken a list of 10 popular burger recipes and analysed Google search data to rank the nation’s favourite patties for 2022.
No prizes for guessing what’s top of the pile. With a staggering 7,000 monthly searches, the classic cheeseburger ranks in first place for being the nation’s favourite burger.
Whether enjoyed as a well-needed piece of scran after a boozy night out or as a treat-yourself-dinner, you simply cannot underestimate this burger’s capacity for satisfying the taste buds with generous helpings of oozy, melty cheese and a lightly toasted bun.
In second place is the steak burger. Regardless of whether you like it well done or medium rare, we reckon a steak is always a good idea. However, it seems that the nation has a preference for ditching the peppercorn sauce and putting the steak in a burger these days, with a generous helping of cheese, onions and tomatoes. And why not?
The infamous chicken burger now ranks down in seventh place on the list of the UK’s favourite burgers. Perhaps the novelty of these burgers has worn off over recent years, even though we agree that they are still delicious.
Also featuring in the top 10 is the legendary turkey burger. If we can name a burger that makes you feel like it’s Christmas all year round when you bite into it, it has to be this. Typically coated in a mix of delicious seasonings, this burger really does make it seem like Santa Claus has come to town.
Here at GN Badley & Sons, though, we’re a little bit surprised that the minted lamb burger hasn’t made it into the top 10. It’d a firm favourite of ours, and our customers too. They’re hand made using prime cuts of lamb, with perfect seasonings and plenty of mint.
