Free School Meals Donation

We're helping to provide hot meals for local children

A Telford family butcher has stepped up to help a local company provide free hot meals for children during the half term holidays.

G.N. Badley & Sons has donated five pounds of minced beef and 60 sausages to BeMyGuest Catering, which is cooking meals for free this week and delivering them around the Telford and Newport areas.

Martyn Guest of BeMyGuest Catering reached out to local businesses for help, and the G.N. Badley & Sons team invited him to collect supplies from the shop in Gibbons Road, Trench.

Director Kay Badley, said: “No child should be going hungry in our country in this day and age, regardless of this year’s troubles, and we are only too delighted to be able to help this local campaign.

“Food bank charities are pointing to an alarming rise in the number of people in need of essential supplies, and it’s clear that many families are struggling to put food on the table and feed their children this half term.”

Martyn has been using donations to create hot food dishes such as meatballs and pasta, sausage and mash, and spaghetti bolognese.

He said: “We have more than 250 hot meals going out this week, and rising. We will deliver to your door - it goes for anyone who is finding it tough at the minute.”
